Oppono Lending and CanadaLend needed a Salesforce platform capable of supporting complex mortgage operations involving applications, borrowers, mortgage agents and brokerages, underwriting, pricing, property information, documents, funding, renewals, communications, reporting, and collaboration with external participants.
Since 2020, WebSolo has worked with Oppono Lending and CanadaLend to continuously expand and improve their Salesforce environment.
What began with reporting, operational improvements, and mortgage application integration evolved into a long-term Salesforce partnership covering mortgage origination, underwriting, renewals, document workflows, Experience Cloud portals, third-party integrations, customer communications, reporting, Marketing Cloud modernization, and ongoing production support.

Mortgage origination, underwriting, pricing, renewals, broker and lawyer portals, document automation, customer communications, reporting, and integrations with specialized mortgage platforms.
Talk to usSalesforce technologies, mortgage platforms, integrations, automation, portals, and operational capabilities delivered throughout the Oppono and CanadaLend engagement.
Mortgage operations depend on information moving accurately between multiple systems, business rules, and teams.
Applications may originate outside Salesforce through specialized mortgage platforms such as Filogix or Newton/Velocity. Once received, application information has to be translated into the Salesforce data model, matched with existing applicants, agents, brokerages, properties, and other records, and made available to internal teams without unnecessary duplicate records or manual re-entry.
From there, a mortgage application can trigger pricing calculations, underwriting rules, document requirements, approvals, customer communications, lender responses, lawyer collaboration, funding activities, reporting, commissions, and eventually mortgage renewal.
The environment therefore required more than isolated Salesforce customization. It needed a connected architecture capable of integrating specialized mortgage technologies with Salesforce while allowing business processes to evolve over time.
One of the major initiatives within the engagement was a custom integration between Salesforce and Filogix LENDING Connection.
WebSolo worked with the Oppono team to map Filogix application data into the Salesforce data model and developed the services required to retrieve mortgage applications, process incoming XML, and create or update the corresponding Salesforce records.
The integration handles more than a basic Opportunity import.
Incoming mortgage applications often reference agents and brokerages that may already exist in Salesforce.
WebSolo implemented matching logic that can identify existing records using business identifiers such as registration numbers, firm codes, and email addresses.
The Filogix architecture includes acknowledgement and error-handling processes so application processing can be monitored and failed transactions can be investigated.
This became particularly important as Salesforce moved beyond isolated CRM activity and became a central operational layer in the mortgage process.
As requirements evolved, WebSolo continued extending the Filogix integration to support additional Salesforce-to-Filogix and loan-decision related processes.
This created a more connected workflow between Salesforce and the mortgage origination platform and reduced the need to repeatedly enter the same information in multiple systems.
The Salesforce architecture later expanded beyond Filogix.
WebSolo developed and supported integration functionality for additional mortgage platforms including Newton/Velocity and Lendesk.
This multi-platform architecture allowed Salesforce to remain a common operational layer even as different origination channels and external systems were introduced.
For Newton/Velocity, Salesforce receives mortgage application information through custom Apex integration services.
The integration parses incoming XML, maps the information into Salesforce, preserves original submission information for support purposes, and acknowledges successfully received applications.
Salesforce can also send relevant information back as application stages change.
WebSolo also supported Salesforce integration functionality involving Lendesk as the mortgage technology environment expanded.
This helped preserve Salesforce as the common operational layer even when mortgage applications originated from different external systems.
A Purview integration allows Salesforce users to request property and registration information and return relevant results to the mortgage application process.
This allows specialized external property information to become available within the broader Salesforce mortgage workflow.
The Salesforce environment also includes custom integration functionality around TMO, supporting mortgage and funding-related information exchange and downstream loan information.
Together with Filogix, Newton/Velocity, Lendesk, and Purview, these integrations allow users to work primarily from Salesforce while still accessing specialized mortgage systems.
A significant part of the long-term engagement has focused on translating mortgage business rules into Salesforce automation.
WebSolo has implemented and maintained automation for application stages, underwriting, mortgage pricing, conditions, approvals, documentation, communications, funding, and renewals.
Salesforce includes mortgage-specific loan-to-value calculation logic.
Different LTV scenarios can be evaluated based on factors such as:
Mortgage debt-service calculations incorporate borrower income, liabilities, property expenses, mortgage position, and other application data.
Embedding these calculations in Salesforce helps make the results available to the same workflows used by underwriting and operations teams.
Salesforce applies mortgage-product and pricing logic based on application data and business rules.
The automation was designed to support structured pricing while still allowing users to make appropriate manual adjustments where the business process requires them.
WebSolo implemented functionality for generating mortgage conditions according to the characteristics of the application.
Conditions can vary based on scenarios including:
Custom validation and warning logic helps prevent users from progressing mortgage applications when required information or business conditions have not been satisfied.
This allows important mortgage rules to become part of the Salesforce process instead of depending entirely on manual review.
Mortgage renewals became another substantial area of Salesforce development.
WebSolo worked with the Oppono team to redesign and automate the renewal journey, including creation of renewal Opportunities, customer communications, underwriting steps, maturity-related processing, and scheduled automation.
Custom amortization functionality generates mortgage payment schedules using the applicable:
For renewals, Salesforce can maintain both the original or client-selected scenario and an automatic-renewal scenario.
As Salesforce moved away from Process Builder, WebSolo helped recreate and modernize mortgage automation using Salesforce Flow.
This reduced dependence on legacy Salesforce automation technology while preserving critical mortgage business processes.
Document collection and broker collaboration represented another important operational requirement.
WebSolo developed an Experience Cloud portal workflow allowing mortgage brokers and agents to securely view related applications and provide requested documentation.
From Salesforce, an internal user can select required items from an application's Document Checklist and send a request to the broker.
The broker can then:
When documentation is uploaded, Salesforce updates the corresponding checklist information and notifies the appropriate internal user.
The Experience Cloud solution also supports functionality around:
The solution combines Experience Cloud, Lightning Web Components, Apex, Flow, and Salesforce Files.
WebSolo also developed a dedicated portal workflow for lawyers involved in mortgage transactions.
Internal users can select reviewed documents within Salesforce and securely make those documents available to the appropriate lawyer.
Within the portal, lawyers can:
Salesforce can then notify the appropriate internal team when new documents or requests are submitted.
This creates a structured document-exchange process around the Salesforce mortgage application instead of depending exclusively on disconnected email exchanges.
Document generation has been part of the engagement from the beginning.
WebSolo has supported extensive Conga Composer functionality for generating mortgage-related documents from Salesforce data.
The document-generation logic allows documents to respond to the specific details of a mortgage application rather than functioning only as static templates.
The Salesforce platform coordinates communication throughout the mortgage lifecycle.
WebSolo has supported numerous email, notification, and SMS processes triggered by application stages and business events.
Reporting was one of the first areas WebSolo worked on with Oppono in 2020 and has remained an important part of the Salesforce environment.
Reports and dashboards have supported areas including:
Where standard Salesforce reporting could not meet a business requirement, custom development was evaluated or implemented to provide the required visibility.
WebSolo developed custom commission-calculation functionality within Salesforce.
The solution uses custom Salesforce objects, scheduled Apex, and automation to calculate and maintain commission records for different business scenarios.
As the Salesforce ecosystem evolved, WebSolo also supported the transition of marketing functionality from Pardot / Account Engagement into Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
The work included:
This reflects the broader role WebSolo has played throughout the engagement: not simply maintaining existing customization, but helping the Salesforce environment evolve as Salesforce products and the client's technology stack change.
Long-running Salesforce environments accumulate technical dependencies over time.
WebSolo has therefore also supported platform modernization and technical-debt reduction.
A defining part of the Oppono and CanadaLend success story is the duration of the relationship.
WebSolo began working with the organizations in 2020 and has remained involved as Salesforce requirements, mortgage products, third-party systems, Salesforce capabilities, and business processes have changed.
The engagement has included hundreds of individual enhancements and business requests across Salesforce environments.
The Oppono and CanadaLend Salesforce engagement began in 2020 and continues as mortgage business processes, Salesforce capabilities, and external mortgage technologies evolve.
